Meet locals with Art Classes at the Design Chapel
From budding graphic designers, to seasoned creatives, if you’ve been starved of creative community and you’re holding out for a hero, our chapel is home to some of the coolest evening & weekend activities around!
Our latest workshop, ‘Squiggles with Siscribbles’ brought many faces together. Some real, some crossing into the imaginary, but all perfectly formed. With our guest host Silvia Scifo, no less than 14 lovely local ladies embraced the freedom in imperfection, and we don’t think they could look happier!
The queens of conversation and collaboration Ladies, Wine & Design (Southampton) teamed up with Silvia Scifo (aka Siscribbles), a continuous line artist with her roots in country of squiggly spaghetti itself 🇮🇹. She is a local Graphic Designer and Illustrator who is spreading the word on how embracing “mistakes” can shape and contribute to a richer creative process.
Not only did everyone have the opportunity to chat with fellow creatives as part of this class, they tried something new, and the Design Chapel had the pleasure of making space for that all to happen. In true LW&D fashion, this workshop also included the slurp of a free glass of vino (or two) —- you know, to keep the creative juices flowing and that grip loose! 😉
“One of my favourite events to date! It was so fun to see everyone stepping outside of their comfort zone and learn to embrace mistakes.
This is the first of many illustration workshops at the chapel and it went down a storm! Tickets sold out like hot-cakes with many on the waiting list - so it’s definitely something our community is craving!
We had everyone from creative freelancers & small business owners to teachers, students & enthusiasts join us for an evening of expressive illustration and a good old chin wag! A big shoutout to the Design Chapel for the venue, Siscribbles for sharing her line drawing wisdom, and Nicola Joan Williams for taking all of these beautiful images.”

If your love language is quality time, Chapel Chats could be the perfect balance of proper conversation, reflection and expanding your creative circle. Ladies, Wine & Design
The Southampton chapter of this global non-profit organisation is run by our Brand Ambassador & Events Coordinator Jazzy Olive, and her arty accomplice Hattie Hopkins.
We love LW&D because they’re also on a mission to create an inclusive space for underrepresented diversity in the creative industry. Their intersectional approach is inclusive of all women, gender non-conforming, agender and non-binary people.
The Design Chapel are super proud to offer our space to support this work through our “gift economy” approach, open to local charities and organisations.
